The Cruzin' Buddies Car Club was founded in 2000 by Jim Atchison, Ross Bonnie, Ed Vasas and Randy Taylor - all friends and street rod owners always talking about places they could cruise together for entertainment. After enjoying a few trips together, they decided to design and purchase matching jackets for each of the group to wear on their day cruises together. Of course, they needed a name for their little group - and there was born the name "Cruzin' Buddies". With each cruise the group was joined by another car enthusiast or two and, as time went on, the club grew through invitations, word-of-mouth and exposure at car shows the club members attended. The club grew rapidly and now has a membership of over eighty-five people. Although the Cruzin' Buddies is a non-sanctioned club, the organization works hard at being active in all high desert car club events in the support of local charities. Cruzin' Buddies meets once a month to share information on upcoming events, car shows, cruises and social gatherings. Of course the club hosts a social hour before and after each meeting - which gives everyone the opportunity to socialize. Cruzin Buddies is based on "no dues" and "no officers", in an attempt to keep the organization informal and focused strictly on the common interest of street rods.
